2025 Program Student Testimonials

My experience with the summer program in South Korea was incredibly positive — I genuinely enjoyed every single day. The program pushed me to step outside of my comfort zone and engage in learning in a completely unconventional setting, which made it all the more enriching and memorable. In the fall semester, I plan to study at Korea University.

Harrison Schimpf

I really enjoyed the entire program — every part of it was engaging and meaningful. Speaking with local officials was a unique and eye-opening experience. One of my favorite moments was visiting the National Museum of Korea, especially because the guided tours made everything come alive. The visit to MBC was another big highlight for me — such an exciting and memorable experience!

Julia Takahashi

I wanted to thank the GWIKS program and express my gratitude for the opportunity. The program provided me with invaluable learning experiences and memorable moments that I will carry forward in my perspectives and always brag about.I appreciate your guidance and support, I felt truly comfortable asking questions to fuel my curiosities and learn more about the U.S.-ROK alliance, tech industry, and South Korean society. In particular, I am driven to follow the future of South Korea and how it will grow on the world stage. Since the program, I’ve been planning some parts of my future and our conversation gave me insight into federal employment and its processes.

Kirti Kanatala

The program offered incredible opportunities to engage in one-on-one conversations with people from various companies and institutions, which made the experience truly personal and insightful. I learned so much from the session with KINU — it was one of the most informative parts of the program. Overall, it felt like a more expert-focused experience, which I really appreciated. I also enjoyed the visit to SK T.um, especially the interactive and hands-on learning activities!

Grace Lee

Visiting Camp Humphreys and meeting a four-star general was an unforgettable experience that gave me a whole new perspective. I also really enjoyed the visit to the MBC music show and news station — it was exciting to see the media world up close. What made the program even more special was how the visits catered to everyone’s interests, and getting to speak with Korean students added a personal and meaningful touch to the whole experience.
