For donors Mr. Tom Chong Hoon Kim, B.A. ’58, M.A. ’61, and Mrs. Pearl Chungbin Kim, GW runs in the family. Their grandson, Russell Kim, B.A. ’17, was the one who introduced his grandparents to the institute and its work. (Donors pictured at left, on either side of their grandson, center.)
The GW Institute for Korean Studies is supported in part by a generous $750,000 donation from Mr. Tom Chong Hoon Kim, B.A. ’58, M.A. ’61, and Mrs. Pearl Chungbin Kim. Their grandson, Russell Kim, B.A. ’17, was the one who introduced his grandparents to the institute and its work. (Donors pictured at left, on either side of their grandson, center.)
This generous gift from the Kim family has created the Tom and Pearl Kim Endowment, which serves to enhance the institute’s work, especially in forging links between the humanities and other disciplines and schools at GW while promoting collaboration among scholars and policymakers who are critical to the overall field of Korean Studies. GWIKS is grateful for the support of their Kim family and their commitment to enhancing Korean Studies at GW and beyond.
Details on the Kim Family’s generous donation to GWIKS can be found in this article published in GW Today.
